Undergraduate Programs

The College of Hospitality and Technology Leadership offers three undergraduate program:

Applied Science

The Applied Science program at USF Sarasota-Manatee is designed to grow the professional management skills of students to meet the demand for leadership of highly technical professionals in the workplace. At USFSM, concentrations for the BSAS are available in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Hospitality and Technology Leadership. For CAS, students can pursue concentrations in either Gerontology or Leadership Studies where as in CHTL, the BSAS degree students can pursue concentrations in Hospitality Management or Information Technology.

Hospitality Management

USF Sarasota-Manatee’s undergraduate Hospitality Management program will gives you the knowledge and hands-on experience to earn your dream job at one of the top hotels, restaurants, resorts or hospitality organizations that Florida has to offer. Students in the Hospitality Management program don’t just sit in a classroom – they actively plan, execute and attend a variety of exciting events including food and wine festivals, catered dinners and lavish banquets.

Information Technology

The mission of the Information Technology program is to provide high quality educational opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in the broad range of fields that support our computer-based society and economy. The Information Technology (IT) program is designed to bridge the gap between computer science and management information systems. The emphasis of the program is on knowledge-based computer and information technology, traditional computer science concepts, as well as more practical topics including programming, applications, networking, systems administration, and the security and management of a variety of computing environments. This program is 100 percent online in a highly interactive environment, providing options for face-to-face interactions, help sessions and student-oriented schedules. All the courses are taught by industry experts with opportunities to specialize in a domain as well as interesting internship and career prospects.

Hospitality Managment

The Master of Science in Hospitality Management graduate program takes your passion for the tourism industry and gives you the hands-on experience to become a leader at a top hotel, restaurant, resort or hospitality organization in Florida or internationally. Students in our hospitality management program focus on strategic decision making in the development of hospitality models in the areas of organizational effectiveness, finance, marketing and technology of hospitality ventures, including the growing role of the Internet to improve and expand customer service. Our graduate program gives students the advantage needed to advance their careers in highly-competitive leadership roles in corporate hospitality offices.
